Virtues of (Kurbani) Sacrifice:
Qurbani is an important act of worship in Islam. The word Qurbani is a Persian or Urdu word derived from the Arabic word Qurban. The Bengali equivalent of the Arabic word Qurban is a means of attaining nearness to God. Slaughter of certain animals for the pleasure of Allah on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha is called Qurbani.
Origin:
Qurbani has been practiced since the time of Adam A. Adam A. in the Holy Quran. Two children are said to have been sacrificed. However, during the period of every prophet, the method of sacrifice was not the same. According to the Quran and Hadith, the current method is Ibrahim A. Since its time So Ibrahim A. It is called hadith.
Ibrahim A. Its sacrifice:
According to various descriptions of Islam, the great Allah, the Messenger of Islam Hazrat Ibrahim A. Who commanded him to sacrifice his dearest object in a dream: “Sacrifice your dearest object in the name of Allah”. He saw this dream and thought; I have my dear son Ismail at this moment. There is no other favorite object. He then set out for the Maidan of Arafat to sacrifice his son. When Ibrahim tried to stab his son in the throat to sacrifice him on Mount Arafat, he was surprised to find that an animal had been sacrificed instead of his son and his son was unharmed. Remembering this event, Muslims all over the world celebrate this day as Eid-ul-Azha every year to gain the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala.
Rules of sacrifice:
There are certain rules to be followed while performing Qurbani.
- Suitable animal should be selected for sacrifice. Can be camel, cow, goat, sheep or dumba. These animals must be of a certain age and must not have any physical defects.
- When performing Qurbani, the intention should be for the pleasure of Allah. Sacrifice cannot be done to achieve personal goals.
- Animals should be slaughtered according to Islamic law. In this case, sharp weapons should be used so that the animal suffers less.
- The meat of the sacrifice should be divided according to Islamic rules.
- Qurbani can be done from the time of Eid-ul-Azha prayer till the third day before sunset.
Virtues of (Kurbani) Sacrifice:
The hadith about the virtues of sacrifice, the companions of the Prophet. Who asked the virtues of this (sacrifice)? Prophet S. He replied, “For every hair there is a good one.” They asked again, “What will happen in the case of animals with fur?” (Animals have a lot of fur). Prophet S. He said, “Instead of every fur of a furred animal, there is one virtue.” Subhanallah!
Another hadith mentions that those who sacrifice will receive a special reward in the Hereafter. Hazrat Ayesha R. Narrated from, the Prophet S., peace be upon him. Said, “On the day of the sacrifice of the children of Adam, the most beloved work to Allah is the slaughter of the sacrificial animal. On the Day of Resurrection the sacrificial animal will appear with its horns, fur and hooves. Undoubtedly, the blood of the sacrifice reaches Allah before it falls on the ground. Therefore, sacrifice your life.”
Individual worship like Qurbani Namaz. In the light of Qur’an-Sunnah, the importance, virtues and rewards of sacrifice are very high. And this is Hazrat Ibrahim A. It is because of the Sunnah that the Prophet S., peace be upon him. He observed it himself. That is why it is obligatory for the able-bodied of the Muhammadan Ummah to perform it.
